On 10 May 2020, the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the continuation of the nationwide Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) to 9 June 2020.
As most businesses prepare to operate in this new normal to support the revival of the country’s economy under the CMCO, let us continue to be vigilant in adhering to the strict implementation of the Government’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the safety of our clients, employees, society and ourselves. At AICB, the health and safety of our members, employees and other stakeholders continue to be our priority. As such, kindly note that AICB’s business operations continue as usual remotely from Mondays to Fridays, from 9 am to 6 pm, and our physical office will remain closed until the CMCO is lifted. You may get in touch with our Member Services team at [email protected], which is preferred, or call us at 1300-88-6833.
Additionally, as with many of our affiliates, our response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been focussed on an accelerated transition towards digitalising our business operations. Thus, we are pleased to share that efforts are underway to improve our services, with a view to bringing greater convenience and support to members in this new normal.
One such initiative is our Empowering Bankers Webinar Series, which we introduced in March 2020 to provide members with an online avenue for greater knowledge sharing on the latest developments and topics of interest in these unprecedented times. We would like to encourage members to register for our upcoming webinar, The Future of Banking: Overcoming the Impacts of COVID-19, which will be held on 14 May 2020 @ 3 pm (+8 GMT) as well as our Digital Banking Series, the first of which will commence on 20 May 2020. Do continue to stay updated on our latest announcements, developments and initiatives through our website and socialmedia pages.
I would also like to say that the lockdown has meant financial difficulty for many businesses and individuals in Malaysia. If you would like to contribute and donate to our frontliners or help the less fortunate, many of our member banks have set-up relief funds to support these causes and the community, so please visit the respective banks’ websites. Lastly, on behalf of AICB, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to all the frontliners and essential workers, who continue to put their lives at risk to protect ours. Let’s continue to do our part to contain the spread of COVID-19 — do remember to wear your masks and practice social distancing and good personal hygiene.
Thank you and stay safe!
