Chartered Banker By Experience (CBBE) and Prior Experience Conversion (PEC): Updates on Eligibility Criteria

AICB is pleased to inform you that the eligibility criteria for the Chartered Banker by Experience (CBBE) and Prior Experience Conversion (PEC) programmes have been revised.

Chartered Banker By Experience (CBBE)

Candidates are required to have ≥ 10 years of banking-related business experience, including ≥ 5 years of relevant banking experience at manager/senior manager level, with significant experience or exposure to credit and/or risk functions

Candidates are required to have:

  1. ≥ 10 years of experience in banking-related business, with significant exposure to credit and/or risk functions, AND
  2. ≥ 5 years of relevant banking experience in strategic leadership roles, typically in C-1* positions and above.

*Candidates in a C-2 position will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Level 2

Prior Experience Conversion (PEC)

Candidates are required to have:

  1. ≥ 15 years of experience in the banking industry, inclusive of 5 years in any of the specialised functions (Credit, Audit, Risk, Compliance or AML/CFT), AND
  2. been in a C-1* position for at least 5 years, AND
  3. a recommendation letter from the CEO’s office or the designated office approved by the CEO.

*Candidates in a C-2 position will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Candidates are required to have:

  1. ≥ 10 years of experience in the banking industry, inclusive of 5 years in any of these specialised functions (Credit, Audit, Risk, Compliance or AML/CFT), AND
  2. ≥ 3 years of relevant banking experience in specialised functions in a leadership role, typically in C-2* positions and above, AND
  3. a testimony and recommendation letter from a C-suite officer of the specialised function.

*Candidates in a C-3 position will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
