AICB and the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) are proud to organise a session under AICB’s Empowering Bankers CPD Programme titled “Balancing the Pillars: Risk, Compliance, and Ethics in Financial Directorship”, which will be held on 23 October 2024 at the Executive Forum of Bangunan AICB.

Join us to explore the evolution of corporate governance in the financial services industry and the principles and practices that shape an organisation's conduct and decision-making process.

Balancing the Pillars: Risk, Compliance, and Ethics in Financial Directorship

Hear from directors in the financial sector who will be providing keen insights on their roles and responsibilities, the key challenges faced, and the valuable lessons learnt throughout their careers, as well as the duties and liabilities that accompany their roles.

Through this programme, you will:

  • understand the history, evolution and current state of corporate governance, as well as the key principles and standards that govern the behaviour of organisations
  • gain a clear understanding of the fiduciary duties, legal liabilities, and governance responsibilities associated with directorship in the financial sector
  • identify the complexities and challenges encountered by directors, particularly in areas such as risk management, regulatory compliance, and ethical oversight
  • draw from the experience and advice of seasoned directors to strengthen your professional growth in areas such as networking, personal branding, and continuous learning, and
  • learn to assess your qualifications and readiness to assume directorship roles and understand how to position yourself as a strong candidate for future opportunities.

Participants will be entitled to 2 CPD hours upon full attendance. Seize this opportunity to expand your knowledge in this space while fulfilling your CPD requirements.

Who Should Attend

We encourage the senior management of the banks, Chartered Bankers and aspiring directors to attend.
