AICB’s 5th webinar under the Empowering Bankers Sustainable Finance Series, “Changing Perspectives: Addressing Climate-related Risks in the Financial Sector”, was held on 22 October 2020 @ 8 pm. At the session, Financial Sector Specialists Martijn Regelink and Henk Reinders of the World Bank shared how emerging markets are faring when dealing with impacts from climate change and how transition risks, which stem from the process of adjusting to a low-carbon economy, correlate with the development path of a country. The use of stress tests and impact modelling to assess the potential impact of climate scenarios were also discussed, as was the scale of the challenge in greening financial systems globally. The webinar was attended by over 100 participants, who actively engaged with the speakers through the Q&A session and chats.
