The Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and its Compliance Officers’ Networking Group (CONG), with the support of Bank Negara Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia, and Labuan Financial Services Authority, organised the 13th International Conference on Financial Crime and Terrorism Financing (IFCTF) 2023 on 2–4 October 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia. Themed “Trust Reinvented: Building a Sustainable Culture of Integrity, Transparency and Accountability”, IFCTF 2023 highlighted how a renewed focus on trust is critical in the public and private sectors to ensure the sustainability, stability and growth of the nation.
Over 50 global and regional subject matter experts convened to share their knowledge, experience and insights on key aspects of integrity, transparency, and accountability from the perspective of financial crime and anti-money laundering/counter financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), with a special focus on anti-corruption, anti-bribery, and the need to further enhance transparency and accountability in the financial systems. Close to 1,200 delegates from local and international financial institutions attended and gained new knowledge from the dynamic exchange of insights, ideas and potential solutions to the increasingly complex issues of financial crime at the three-day event.
Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Datuk Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour delivered the opening address at the event, which also saw the launch of the #JanganKenaScam National Scam Awareness Campaign.
IFCTF is the single largest platform in Malaysia that connects compliance, audit, risk, finance and legal professionals to learn from experts in combatting financial crime and terrorism financing.
