AICB’s 6th webinar under the Empowering Bankers Sustainable Finance Series, “Sustainability Focus of Budget 2021”, was held on 13 November 2020 @ 10.30 am. At the session, speakers Thiagarajan Nadeson of WWF-Malaysia; Sazrin Mohd Razak of Bank Islam, and Wan Suhaimie Saidie of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad shared their respective organisations’ sustainability journeys with attendees. Among the pertinent points covered were the broader sustainability initiatives in Budget 2021 and the enablers required to realise the sustainability agenda; areas for improvement in pursuing sustainability; the principles of value-based intermediation (VBI) that create a positive impact on the economy, community and environment, and what the financial sector can do to raise sustainability awareness levels. The webinar was attended by over 100 participants, who actively engaged with the speakers through the Q&A session and chats.
